1. **Why is it called a "bumper machine"?** The bottom cylinder drives the machine body to vibrate at high frequency (compacting), which, combined with the pressure head above, compacts the molding sand. During operation, it continuously vibrates and impacts, hence the colloquial name "bumper machine" used by factory workers.
2. **What does it do (in conjunction with the intermediate frequency furnace!)?**
- The intermediate frequency furnace is responsible for melting iron/copper into molten metal;
- **This molding machine is responsible for making sand molds (sand molds):** compacting the molding sand to form the cavity of the casting;
- After the sand mold is made, the molten iron from the intermediate frequency furnace is poured into the sand mold, and after cooling, the cast iron part is obtained.
### II. Simplified Workflow
Place the mold → Fill with molding sand → Machine vibration + compaction → Automatic mold removal and ejection from the sand box → Obtain the formed sand mold → Wait for molten iron to be poured.
